    Illness

Being ill really bites the big one. It majorly sucks! Ever since I woke up on Thursday morning I have felt like total crap - and had the biggest pile of symptoms to go with it.
First I thought it was just a 24 hour bug; I had a headache, cold and a bit of a sore throat. Nothing too major, although I did spend the day resting in the hope I would recover by the next day. No such luck. I couldn't sleep at all that night, due to the fact all of my muscles had decided that aching would be an entertaining way to spend the night. I finally managed to get some rest in the morning, when I think my body had just given up and decided that it didn't care how much pain I was in it was going to sleep.
The rest of the day was spend curled up on the sofa reading; my sore throat and runny nose had gotten a lot worse, and to add even more variety to the mix I also had ear-ache AND a slight cough! Eventually, as the day passed, the ear-ache vanished. Only to be replaced by an upset stomach. That was certainly not a good trade! It was at this point I realised this wasn't just a 24 hour bug. I was actually ill. Damnit. I don't get ill very often - stupid London. Yes of course I blame London - I wasn't ill at home! And I am down here. Coincidence? I think not!
Anyway, that night I slept relatively well, considering. Although I kept waking up and feeling like I was going to be sick, but in general I got a good rest.
Now we reach this morning. In some ways I've felt much better today; no more aching, or stomach ache. My headache has pretty much vanished, although it does keep coming back for a visit every now and again. But, alas, I've not been let off the hook yet. My sore throat has become much worse, as has my cough, and as a result I have almost lost my voice! Which is really not good for me, who talks all the time! I sound like a frog or a cackling witch or something, and it hurts to talk!
Anyway I am now sat, exhausted, typing this just before I go to bed. I'm really hoping that tomorrow I can at least talk as I have to go into the local Leisure Centre to sort out job! Which will be rather difficult if I don't have a voice! So I hope you can all wish me luck; both in my recovery and in my job-hunting!

Anyway, I'm going to stop posting now as I know none of you really wanted to know any of this!

    Love you all,

    House and Reunions!

Okay update! It feels like ages since I wrote here, althoug I'm sure it wasn't that long ago! Last week sometime maybe...
Oh well, here is a bit of a life update!
We are all finally settling into the house, which is great. Smithers is moving in tomomrrow, so we will finally all be here! I love this place so much, and am excited about the next few years.
Hmm... okay what else have I been up to? Been out a few times with friends. Oh last weekend was amazing! I went home, and had two reunions with friends! On Saturday night I went out with a girl called Rose who I was best friends with in Infants school. But we ended up losing touch as she was older than me, and so we hadn't seen each other for maybe about 8 years! We went out for a meal, and it was sooo nice catching up again! The strange thing is though we still have sooo much in common! She isn't an anime fan, but didn't laugh at me when I said I was (she hasn't actually seen any anime before so she doesn't not like it!) ... we have the same taste in music, films, TV shows... even icecream! It was amazing, although it is kind of strange that two people who were so alike as kids can still be alike when they grow older, even though they lived different lives! It was so lovely to see her again, and we are definatly going to make sure we keep in touch!
On Sunday I saw my friend Micky, who had been doing a gap year abroad! That was amazing seeing her too, although I didn't get long to talk to her as there were lots of people around (and I really REALLY don't get on with a lot of her friends) so I sat with my mum and her family while Micky flicked between the two groups. I felt bad about making her do it, but to be honest with you sitting smoking and drinking outside with a group of people, half of which I hate and the other half of which I don't know, really wasn't something I could do. But it was still amazing seeing her, even though it wasn't for long!
Hmm... what else have I been up to? Not a huge amount... spent the last day and a half dying (I'm ill, and it's really not fun!) but Jo is looking after me which I'm grateful for!

Anyways, Best finish here as I haven't got a huge amound more to say!

    Love you all

    Bleurb

In my present state of boredom (caused largely by the fact that I have 2 hours to waste in the most boring town in the world while I wait for new lenses to be put in my glasses) I feel a bit of an opinionated post is in order. Is that spelled correctly? Oh who knows. Or really cares for that matter.
Now for my opinions on various issues (well, okay, I got carried away so it is my opinion on only one issue ^^;;, which, by the way, is not meant to offend anyone so if anyone does take offence from this then I'm sorry!):

    Religion
Now, I know this may cause some fuss, but I am not in the slightest bit religious. I don't like the idea of some "force" or "entity" controlling the way I live my life, and judging me by it. Although I don't know very much about any religions, what I do know about some seems to baffle me. For example the bible is full of statements which contradict each other. Jo pointed out to me a while back that in one part of the bible it says that Christians are not allowed to marry non-Christians, yet in another part it says that if you are Christian then even if your wife/husband isn't, they still get into heaven. How can both be true? Plus why is it that "god" is allowed to dictate who it is you are allowed to marry? People marry for love, and you can't choose who you are in love with! If god really did exist, surely it (I will refer to god as 'it' as it could be male or female, or neither) would want its followers to be happy? And by marrying someone of a different (or no) faith is not showing you don't believe in god! Does god want people to be unhappy if they can't be with the person that they want to be with?
Another, related thing, is how religion dictates how you should act. Although I can't give many specific examples (as I can't remember many off the top of my head and don't want to say anything which is incorrect) from what I have seen religion can control almost every aspect of your life - such as what you can eat and wear. Surely if god does exist then just believing is enough? And showing your belief in ways such as praying is enough. Why do people have to do other things which affect their general life style? Does it mean that if someone of, say, the Catholic denomination, uses contraceptives, then they will be punished and not be allowed into heaven? So would god prefer then to not use any, and then for the woman to fall pregnant, but have to give up the baby if she can't support it? Does god want children brought into the world who aren't loved, or can't be cared for? I heard somewhere that some Christian extremist groups started a campaign in Africa saying that using contraceptives increased the risk of HIV (they used some very shifty "research" which stated that condoms increased the concentration of the HIV virus and therefore increased the chanced of catching at. A load of rubbish, but how are poor people in Africa meant to know that it's not true? They don't have access to true information.) Although I'm not sure if this is true or not, the fact is that if it is then it would result in less African's using contraception, and therefore more children, which will make their present situation and lack of food/medicine even worse! How can a god want that to be inflicted on people? Even if it isn't true, the fact still remains that there are a large number of extremist groups out there from a large number of religions, one of the worst examples been that of terrorists. I'm not going to go into that now, but I'm sure I will do one day. I do know that groups like these are not condoned by their religion though, so I'm not saying that this is what all the religion beleives! just some extremists.
Although I have no problem with people been religious - people can believe what they like, and I have no problem with that and will certainly not try to stop people from believing, one thing that I don't like about some groups is how they try to press their religion and beliefs onto you. I know people who try and force their religion onto you are preach to you the way inwhich you should live your life. I really don't agree with this, and sure they may believe everything that they are saying, but that doesn't mean everyone else has to! One of the Christian denominations (I can't remember which, and actually it might be more than one) believes that inorder to show that you are a good Christian, you should convert other people. Isn't believing enough for this so-called "god"?
The worst group for this are Johovis Witnesses (or however it is spelled!). We frequently have them knocking on our door, with flyers and lectures. If anything the fact that they are so annoying has forced me away from that religion! If I was going to look into religion more, in the hope of finding one I could believe in, it certainly wouldn't be them as they are so irritating! But don't they believe that there is only a certain amount of space in heaven, and only a set number of people are allowed in? Then why do they try to recruit more followers when it would decrease their chances of getting into heaven! And what would god do when it got full? Choose his/her favourite people and trade the others for new ones then they arrive? It just seems too pointless to me. And they don't believe in blood transfusions either do they? Which I thing is just stupid - why would god want people to die if there was a way to save them? I guess it's the whole "everything happens for a reason" thing, which in my opinion is just a way of saying "I have no idea why that happens or why god would do that, but if I say that I will be going against my faith". Just like when people say "I don't know the answer to that, but there is one!" when they are asked particularly tricky questions regarding religion and why things are the way that they are! A quick note on the blood transfusion note again; I think I heard somewhere that the head of the Johovis Witnesses' daughter (possible not daughter, but some sort of relative at least) needed a blood transfusion to save her life, so the head changed the rules so she could have one! Am I correct here? If I'm not then say so and I will remove this section, and if I'm right then please confirm it!
I feel like I'm doing a bit of a Christian "bashing", but that is only because it's the religion I know the most about, but again I'm going to raise another issue. Christians believe that if you are a Christian you will get into heaven right? So if you are a Christian, but murdered someone, you are allowed into heaven provided you repent for your sins! Yet someone who is non-Christian, even if they have done an amazing amount of good for humanity, and saves hundreds of lives, will go to hell just for not believing. I'm sorry, but if that is the case then "god" is an idiot and only wants people who worship him, regardless of how they act! And even rewards people who did bad things just for saying "sorry I believe in you!"
On a much more positive note now, I will say a few things which I think are good about religion (although, admittedly, this list is rather a lot shorter). I do like the fact that religion supplies morals and values. For example, the Ten Commandments are almost all things which people should follow in general - such as "don't murder" and "don't steal". Without religion laying down rules, the law would be in a much more difficult position I believe. People who have faith are much more likely to listen to their "god" as opposed to the leader of their country, so having both laying down very similar laws is a good thing in my opinion. And I'm sure that other religions have similar guidance, which is beneficial to all of society. And I guess it is nice to have something you can believe in, but personally I don't need that! I went through a phase when I was younger where I looked into the Christian belief, and I believed some of what it said, but then I changed my opinion as I learned more and realised that I thought it made no sense and was a load of rubbish (okay, so my "religious" phase only lasted about a week). I can't grasp the consent of some higher "force" watching over me. I guess though I could say something corny here like "god exists inside people" but ... bleurghhhh. Hmmm okay by the definite change in tone of this post I think you can all tell that I have lost interest in this post now ^_^; ... I'm hungry. Might go grab some cake from the bakery ^_^ Yum!

    Raa

    ****UPDATED ^_^ ****

Okay ... I have 10 mins to write this post before food so lets see how much I can manage ^_^

First things first - we move into our house in London tomorrow (hurrah!!!!!) ... which is very very exciting, and hopefully I will be able to get a job down here and finally get some money together! Okay ... um ... here is what I have been up to (well, some of it) since my last post ^_^

    Keats party
Came down to London last Saturday for a party Keat was holding, which was really good fun and we played lots of video games, which although I'm not a major fan of playing, I enjoy watching other people play them as I find it amusing ^_^ ... my plan for an early night failed when I came back downstairs to get a drink of water after I had gone to bed, and got talking to all of the guys and stayed up until 5.30am... oops ^^;; ... so needless to say I was pretty tired after all that, and then I was going to Sarah's on Sunday! Who lives in Kent, so yeah. Yorkshire -> London -> Kent in 2 days with little sleep inbetween? Not the best of plans! But still it made a change from sitting at home doing nothing!

    Sarahs
I stayed with Sarah Sunday -> Thursday, which was amazingly good fun and it was great to see her again ^_^ We did loads - on Sunday night we had a chinese takeaway, and on Monday we went into Rochester and then Chatam, on a general 'see the area and kind of shop thing', and we ate lunch in wetherspoons ^_^. That evening we watched "A Cinderella Story", which is a great tacky girly film staring Hilary Duff! On Tuesday we went to the seaside (I will put photos up when I get a chance to) where we made a sandcastle, paddled in the sea and played on 2p machines! Yay! And that night we watched "Honey" which is a very cool, but odd, film about dancers ^_^
On Wednesday we went to the cinema to see "The Fantastic 4", which is a really good film and I highly recommend! Then we had lunch in a nice place called the Exchange, although some of the items on the menu were ... well ... to be avoided! Such as a burger with bacon, cheese and ... wait for it .. peanut butter and jam! Yes I'm serious! It sounded ... mank. So we avoided it at all costs! Then we went back to hers and watched "Practical Magic", which is a very cool film ^_^ Hurrah for Sandra Bullock!
Oh Thursday we went to visit her sister, and then all came back to Sarahs. Sarah's neice Emma is THE most adorable child in the world, and we played together for a bit then I had to leave as I was going to Jos ^_^

    Jos
We didn't do much on Thursday night, then on Friday came into London to hand in our contract for the house and pay the deposit. Then spent that evening packing some of Jo's stuff ^_^
On Saturday morning we moved into our house! Yay! It is soooo nice! Jo did a great job of finding us such a cool place ^_^

Anyways, there isn't much else to say really. I am home at the moment... have a good weekend ahead of me; tonight I'm going out for a meal with a girl I was friends with in Infants school but had lost contact with, and tomorrow I see my friend who has been doing a gap year ^_^ I'm so excited about both things!

    Okay that is all ^_^

    Raaa

    Okay quick post about what I have been up to;

Went out on monday night, and won a bottle of champagne cos me and my friends were the dancers on the dance floor XD ... hehe it was mine and Holly's lesbian dancing that did it! Hurrah! ... Of course my legs are now in total agony cos we were dancing for about 3 hours non-stop. Hehe at one point me and Holly had a circle of men stood around us watching, making comment such as "I don't know which one I would rather have" and "Go on then snog!" ... soooooo funny. Oh but the whore (evil cow we knew from high school/college) stole our champagne, so the nice DJ gave us more ^_^ ... she is such a cow and was trying to be my friend again, then started yelling at Holly so I tried to go over to break them up but had Saggi literally dragging me away! Pah I wouldn't have actually hit her, as much as I wanted to, because violence is BAD. But she would have deserved it ... grrr. Oh and Holly also won another bottle for been the worst dancer at the YMCA ^_^

Anyways, am also excited (but shocked) cos I'm going down south this Saturday, and not coming back until the Weekend Micky comes home! I'm going to Keat's party on Saturday night, then going to stay with Sarah, then possible Jo depending on timing, then I'm moving into our house next weekend! (touch wood) ... It's all so sudden I'm kind of in shock. And have to pack! In 2 days! nooooooooooo. Luckily I didn't unpack most of my things though ^_^ hehe. Just say photo's of our house... my room is small ... I'm gonna sooooooooooooooooo make a big mess of it! Will have to claim somewhere else in the house to store all my stuff though cos I doubt it will all fit in there. But it looks nice ^_^

Anyways, that is all ^_^ gotta dash!

    byeee for nowwww
