End of year

My god this is depressing. I'm sat in my fully packed room, waiting for my mum to arrive and pick me up, which should be in about an hour and a half depending on traffic. My roomie has left already (such a warm goodbye we had: K: "bye" C: "bye" K:"Have a good summer" C: "you too" *exit C*) so my room is very empty. Sarah left this morning, and Jo on Thursday and it's really sad! Anyways, I am going to waste my time now by updating my lil blog with everything that I haven't had time to write about. I will put everything under headings so that you can read only what interests you ^_^ - by the way this isn't really in any kind of order. It's just what I feel like writing!

Summer Ball
Went to the Imperial College Summer Ball on Saturday the 18th, which was really good fun, but very unlike me. a) It was kindda posh. b) I was wearing a dress. c) I was wearing high heels. d) I was wearing make up e) I had a corsage!!!!! Colin bought me one and it was sooo pretty and he is such a sweetie!... it was all very unlike me! For photographic evidence, check out Liyang's photo gallery and Jo's flickr account ^_^
Although we didn't stay very late (due to the fact that me and Jo and Sarah had exams the following monday) we still all had a really good time! It would have been nice to have stayed longer, but oh well ^_^ The uni looked really cool, and particular highlighter were the Jazz band (of which Ian is a member - him playing the bongo's was rather amusing) and them all playing the sesame street theme song was very odd; "is this sesame street?" "I think this is sesame street!" "why are they playing sesame street?" ... also the fireworks display was really good! And the dodgeyms were amazing (yes we had dodgems! and a ferris wheel thing and a waltsa, although I only went on the dodgems.) Me and Rob shared a car, which me diving, but everytime someone crashed into us/I crashed into them, I bashed my knee on the streering wheel, so all this week I have had a very interesting looking bruise on my knee, which has gone through many different and exciting colours!
The one thing about the ball that I will say was not a good thing was the state of my feet after. I was wearing high heels, and since my feet are not used to them it meant that they got killed. I was on so much pain I could barely walk, and had to take them off and kind of hobble along all the way back to halls! And I still have blisters that extend the entire width of my foot just between the ball of my foot and my toes! I didn't fall over though which I was VERY impressed with! (although it was pointed out by Sarah that I walked with my arm stuck out to keep myself balanced!)

Exams
Thank god they are over with! I managed to cram as much revision as i could into 2 weeks, so I'm amazed I even managed to get through as we seriously have SO much to learn. The PE exam wasn't great; I wouldn't be surprised if I failed that one as I made up most of my answers. The other two went okay, not brilliantly but okay. MB was the one I thought would be the easiest, so had done the least revision for. Then when I came to reading my noted the day before I had a major panic attack as it was actually REALLY difficult to learn it all, as there were loads of fiddly little details about who discovered what and how! And I wasn't the only one; just before the exam we were all worrying as the same thing has happened to everyone else too! But the exam was fine so I don't know what I was worrying about!
I just have to sit now and wait for my results - I know I haven't done as well as I would have liked to have done, but like I said before I have done all that I could have done concidering all I have been through!

Happy Birthday Sarah
Happy 19th Sarah for last week ^_^ Hope you had an amazing time on the Isle of White, and I'm really sorry I couldn't make it! I will definatly next year!

After the exams
After the exams, me, Jo, Sarah, Ian, Chris and Ray went to Pizza hutt for the buffet lunch, which was a really nice way to relax and really good fun. I didn't eat too much though, as the heat was making me feel ill and I think I was still in shock as it was over, but it was still fun! Then after me, Jo and Sarah went shopping on High Street Kensington (which is a bloody rubbish place to shop!) and I bought Sarah a late birthday pressie (a photo frame which I put the photo of me, her, Jo and Hanna that was taken at the ball in!) I sent her to the other side of the shop when I bought it, but she knew what I was up to!
Then we headed back to halls, but it was so hot we hid in a couple of shops on the way to get out of the heat! and again we laughed at the awful clothes on sale these days!
When we got back we had a girly afternoon/evening in. We didn't want to go out and get drunk like everyone else, so we watched the Buffy musical episode (me and Jo sang along through most of it, and Sarah was laughing at us!) then we watched the one after it, which is a funny one where they all lose their memories!
For the rest of the evening we sat eating icecream and fruit, and talking about weddings! It was really good fun and so girly! We all talked about what we want our weddings to be like, and were flicking through a bridal mag Jo had bought (she wants to be a wedding planner) and commenting on all the dresses. Some were beautiful and some, well, were shall we say ... mank.
Overall it was a really fun girly evening ^_^

The weather
It had been too damn hot this week. And I don't cope well with heat! I was just dying all over the place, and haven't actually slept in my room for 4 nights, because it is too hot in here and I don't have a window I can open (I have a door that leads into the garden, which is really good during the day, but on a night I don't want it open!) so I stopped round Jo's for 2 nights, and then Sarah for another two! It was all really good fun - I like sleepover type things ^_^ But, yeah, I have been pretty ill due to the heat (a Nick will vouch for as he saw how ill I was getting!) Oh that reminds me ...

Meal at Wagamamas
Me and Nick arranged a meal for all the core animesoc lot (ie the group of us that hang out anyway not just at anime), so we went to Wagamama's on Thursday evening. It was really good fun, apart from the fact that I was ill. There were about 11 of us, and Kishore managed to be nearly 2 hours late; a record even for him! His food even arrived before he did! It was so hot though - I was wearing just a mini-skirt and my dodgey tart top with the zip down the front but I was still buring up! Luckily Yihlyn had brought a fan with her, so that cooled me down a little! I ate some really good food too - I couldn't decide what to have so just said I would have whatever Yihlyn picked and it was a really nice chicken curry thing ^_^ mmm... oh and Nick fed me some of his food! Hurrah for free food! And he put money down my top too - hurrah for money down my top! MWahahaha though, I had put a safety pin in my top to stop people unzipping it, because it was too hot to wear anything under it and i KNEW someone *coughnickcough* would try to unzip it, and sure enough as soon as he saw me he did! He was so not impressed it was so funny! And he did it while I was on the phone to my mum, so naturally I told her there was a guy trying to unzip my top!
After, we went to Nick's room and watched the Love Hina Spring special movie - I had forgotten how tacky it is! But then I wanted to get back to halls, so we all walked back but I had somehow managed to really injure my food so was limping all the way back so it too us quite a while ^^;;
It was very sad though, as that will be the last time we are all together until next year!

... for responding to my 'I need anime!' plea ^_^ you guys are life savers and have probably given me enough to keep me going all summer ^_^

Packing
I have done a lot of packing thes last few days and it's really sad! On Thursday morning I helped Jo pack up her room (wow that girl has a lot of stuff... cool stuff... but a lot of it!) which was funny because we kept finding things that belonged to me! Then in the afternoon me and Sarah did my room, and then we all helped Jo load things into the van her parents had hired (which was lucky as we were also sending some of my stuff to store at Jo's since my mum only owns a mini and so it won't fit much in! LOADS went to Jo's, and thank you sarah for helping me with all that! I'm not sure if all my things are going to fit in now (there is still a lot, even though loads went to Jo's), so I may have a long train journey ahead of me today T_T
Anyway, then on Friday Sarah did her room (I was meant to help but I was asleep ^^;; - sorry Sarah!) and on Friday night we did Hanna's room, which was amusing as we left it until quite late and Hanna was a tad drunk! Okay will write about Friday next! But anyway packing is really sad, because it finialises the fact you are moving out - especially taking down notice boards which I think is the saddest thing as they are the most personalised bit of the room! Sarah went this morning, and we loaded her things into the car and the was so sad - like it was sad when Jo left - waaa!

Last day
Me and Sarah spend the day together on Friday, and it was really good fun. She packed her room, then I got up and we came across to mine and just finished it while Sarah transferred some music from her laptop to my computer (hurrah thanks ^_^)... then we went for lunch to the pizza/cafe/whatever on G.Road, where Rob joined us! Then we went to Starbucks and bought Frappachinos (mmmmmm Strawberrys and cream) and walked back to halls. We were planning to go to Hyde park, but there was an ominous looking cloud above it so we went to the cinema instead ^_^ We went to see Mr and Mrs Smith (see next section for my opinion of it) then went and hung out in Fisher. We were planning on going to Fulam Broadway, but it was raining a lot so we decided that we would just order take away. And so we did ^_^ it was quite nice, but since everyone had already packed plated and things it was impossible to eat! Hanna got a tad drunk (the equivalent of about 4 pints of pimms and two strong archers and lemonade) ... her trying to type on Rob's computer was one of the highlights of the day! It was so funny! Then Rob went to grab his things from Sarah's room, and so we locked him out of his and decided to mess up his room. Unfortunatly, he had moved all his things out already so we were kind of limited in what we could do; we "hid" his quilt (wrapped it around Hanna) and put his sheet, quilt cover, pillow cases in very unimaginative hiding places - wardrobe. Chest of drawes. Bag. Under Hanna. He found them all straight away, but the highlight had to be Sarah putting some hair gel on the step leading up to his bed! He stood on it, but didn't say anything and we just stood there smirking! Bless him ...

Mr and Mrs Smith
Mmmmm Brad Pitt... with a gun ^_^ ... We were debating between this film and Batman begins, but read reviews and it said this one had Brad Pitt kicking Angelina Jolie (sp?) in the stomach, so we HAD to watch it just for that scene! And it was actually a really good film ^_^ Kind of made no sense, and very silly, but there are some VERY cool gadgets and some VERY cool lines! and Angelina Jolie was actually okay in the film - she looked a lot like J-lo in several parts of it, but she was actually good in it ^_^ The film was very odd, and had a very odd collection of background music, but it was still a good film (although a tad predictable)... so I definatly suggest people go see it if they can ^_^

Revision period
Okay big jump back in time now ... I spend the two week of revison at Jo's, which was really nice and I just want to say thank you to Jo and her parents for putting up with me ^_^ It was amazing ^_^

Message for everyone
I hope you all have an amazing summer - I will try and get online as much as I can but I know it won't be much. I love you all so much and I will see you all either over the summer (if you are a Hudds person, or I am planning on coming to visit you or you me!) I will maybe come down to London at some point, so if I do then I will arrange for all Londoners to meet up ^_^
I love you all and to uni people; thank you for making my year at uni (on the whole) and amazing experience and I hope that next year with be even more fun ^_^

Damn revision...

You know, I'm feeling very artistic at the moment and I really want to make a new layout for my blog (after seeing Yihlyn's new blog who can blame me!? ... her's is AMAZING!) ... but alas I still have to revise for my exams. Which seems to have come to a bit of a stand still ... I'm staring blankly at notes on Serine Proteases, which really don't interest me in the slightest ... Anyway I do have an idea for my new blog layout though, but I won't give it away ^_- ... providing I can get it to work (I'm so rubbish with photoshop and html so there isn't much hope) it should be up as soon as possible after my exams!
Anyway, speaking of exams I think I have done enough revision to pass MCB and MB, although not with very high grades. As for PE ... well ... that depends entirely on the questions. I can do kinetics and maths-y things, so providing that there are enough questions on those i should pass. If not though it isn't the end of the world; I can just come back in September and re-sit it. I don't want to, but if it comes to that I guess I will be okay. I was hoping for a 2.1 this year (and after my BC exam result it looked like I would either get that or a 1st) ... but due to everything that has happened to me in the last few months I'm letting myself off, as there is nothing I could have done to change anything and since it has only been the last few weeks in which I have actually been able to think straight this is the only time I have actually been able to revise. So a pass is good enough for me - this year is only worth 5% of my total degree, so even if I don't do great this year I can work really hard for the nexy few years and pull my grade right up ^_^ ... touch wood ^^;;

Anyways, I had best be going now... will probably not post again until after my exams (which by the way are next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesay) - please all wish me luck :cry:

Bleurgh

I feel weird. Like, proper weird. You know when something is bothering you and you feel like something is constraining you?! It's hard to explain ... like a tight feeling in my chest. Very weird, and it's how I feel when there is something bothering me but I haven't yet figured out what. The main thing worrying me at the moment is exams - but I know that is bothering me and that is a very different kind of feeling. This feeling isn't worry it's ... weird. I don't know what it is that's getting to me - I know that as soon as I figure it out the weird feeling will go away but at the moment that isn't happening. This probably makes no sense to anyone but ah well. Oh a different note I had a very cool dream last night - it was a mix of Buffy, Firefly and the Matrix. I was a slayer, and in uni about to do my exam when a load of evil people came in and so me and Faith (the slayer from Buffy who, well, Isn't Buffy) had to fight against them all and it was a VERY matrix-style fight and VERY cool. Oh and it was against the baddies in the second matrix who work for the weird French man! But the weird French man was not the head bad guy. It was my friend Antony (guy from anime - I'm not sure if he reads my blog of not ^^;;) ... it was very odd. Then he forced me and Faith to drink these weird potions - the one she drank but her in an instant coma, and the one I had meant that I would lose my energy gradually and become ill as time went on. Anyway, then he ran off and I had to escape, and it was Morfius (sp?!) from the Matrix helping me escape, so we raced off in this car, but had to go to the hospital as Faith had been taken there. As I was walking around I began to lose my energy, but knew I had to find Faith so was struggling along, but then I collapsed in some random corridor, and Zoe and Jayne from Firefly were there when I regained consciousness and they were in charge of looking after me. Um .... then I woke up ^^;; ... okay so looking back it wasn’t that cool a dream ... but the matrix style fighting was fun ^_^ Hehe, okay back to revision (nooooooooooooooooooo) ...

Big Brother

Now I'm not normally a fan of TV reality shows; especially not Big Brother, which I watched the first series of, then realised how much rubbish it was and have avoided it ever since. Now here is the shock - I'm actually watching the new series of it. Not all the time though - just on an evening when me and Jo have stopped working for the day. Even more surprising - I'm actually enjoying it! Now before you all gasp in horror and go 'No way that Isn't K-li!!' I will make one point. I'm enjoying it because of how - stupid - all the people in it are! They are all attention grabbing celebrity wannabe's, who will do anything to get on the camera It's so amusing! I think the interview to go onto Big Brother was - "Will you start fights with everyone?!" "Are the only words you know swear words?!" "Will you kiss/have sex with everyone?!" "Will you get naked most of the time!?" - anyone who answered yes to them all got in! At the moment they have a task to go into a box and stay there for ... well ... not sure how long. Some of them have been in for 14 hours now and I really have no idea what's going on! ... oh right they have to stay in a box as long as they can, and who ever stays in the longest wins! ... This is just stupid. You just have to laugh at them! ... the things people will to do be on TV are just ... extreme to say the least. I wouldn't like to have camera's on me and all my actions put on TV - especially with them making them do such stupid and degrading tasks ... no. Defiantly wouldn't do it.
Anyways, back to Firefly for me ^_^ It's a series by Joss Whedon that I'm REALLY enjoying, and me and Jo have been watching ... will write a post about it later ^_^

End of Term Dinner

Last night was the animesoc end of term dinner which was sooooo fun ^_^
We went to an Iranian restaurant, which was really cool and had a parrot and fish and the atmosphere was really nice ^_^
18 of us were there - and me and Yihlyn were the only girls! XD ... so many men between us!!! MWahahaha ... and we got most of them to hug each other ... it was soooooooooooooooooooo funny ... yayyyyyyy ^___^ ... especially Liyang's flying glomp onto Antony!

PANTS

I have had a pretty good day today... although I haven't actually done much work. Me, Jo, Jo's mum and her sister went shopping this morning, and I bought some really funky pants (hehe they are like little short things and really comfy and soooo colourful ^_^) ... yes this is turning into a post about my underwear! And nothing wrong with that! I also bought a bra, which is one of those weird multi-way ones which can be turned into halternecks (I need one to wear with my dress for the ball next weekend). Jo bought some really pretty jewellery and a pretty dress ^_^ ... but I couldn't find anything that I really liked and would go with my dress, so we are going shopping later in the week I believe! As you can see I'm working really hard ^_- We went to the pet shop too and there were sooooooooooooooo many cute hamsters and rabbits and guinea pigs and chinchillas and birds and fish and rats and I want them all ^_^
Anyways, we came back here and actually did some revision! Honest! I learned all about flagellum and how bacterial spores form! Flagellum are things that make bacteria and cells like sperm move and go zoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom. And spores are formed when bacteria make 'em, and they are really really bad cos they can't be destroyed and, like, infect people and stuff but are worse than just normal vegetative bacteria!!!!!
At the moment we are watching the matrix, which is a really cool film. But yes I am studying! I'm studying Keanu Reeves ^_-

Revision T_T

Well, I am writing this post sat on Jo's living room floor and surrounded by revision notes. We are both totally exhausted and sick of revison yet only started yesterday. Mid afternoon.
The thing is, we have SO much to learn its insane! It's not even like we have to understand things and then be able to apply them - we have to actually learn loads of really complicated rubbish, that none of us understand and there is so much of it! And we can't do the courework we have to do ASWELL as revision, because you need a 6 carbon structure but only have a 4C one so can't do anything which it askes you to! And the lecturer hasn't emailed us back yet even though we emailed him asking about it. *sigh*
We are going shopping tomorrow though which should be a nice break, but the part of the day we aren't shopping has to be sent revising. Noooo. IC is evil; my department has exams WAY after everyone else has totally finished. And I should be able to make it to the animesoc end of term dinner (since I have to go back to London on Friday to hand in mine and Jo's cwork) which should be good and a nice break.
Might make some kind of statement and refuse to work. Although I'm not so sure that it would do much good and would just result in me failing the course and then been kicked out ... which would not be a good thing.
Anyways best get back to the structure of lipopolysaccharides and peptoglycans. Woo. Not. T__T

Harry Potter

Since I am REALLY bored, I shall now out forward my opinions on the new Harry Potter film. In some ways, I'm REALLY looking forward to it, as The Goblet of Fire was my fave book by FAR. But then again, looking at the photos I'm not so sure that it will come even close to the amazingness of the book;

No no no no NO ... cedric should NOT look like this! He is meant to be really good looking but ... no ... not impressed!

Fleur

Err... Fleur is meant to be really really REALLY pretty - sure this girl is pretty, but not quite as much as they said in the book that she should be. Plus isn't she meant to have long flowey silver hair?! Pah! They forgot that didn't they?!

Krum

Again .. NO! Sure he looks scary, but I think thats because he looks like some sort of Justin Timberlake wannabe! Soo not right!

Rita Skeeter

She looks ... too young. And not enough like an insect. And her glasses are wrong. Gah!

Hermione

What can i say here apart from "damn she is pretty" ... Emma Watson is only, like, 15 or16 is it?! and she already looks like this. She is soo pretty! And almost old enough so when all the guys drool over her it isn't sick ^_-

Gotta love Ron! ... this is really funny, and I think this part of the film will be done well ^_^ ... Although why is Harry wearing a tux?!!?!??!?!?!?!?!?! A TUX?!?!?! T_T sheesh have they not read the book?

6.40?! wtf!?

I am not impressed. It's 6.40am and I am awake. Out of choice? Hell no. I want to be curled up in bed having a nice dream about ... I don't know ... cakes or something.
But instead I'm sat here listening to my accoursed (not sure if that's the right spelling there, but it's a damn good word) roomie snoring so loud I can't actually sleep. Even with my head phones in and the music on my diskman up really loud, her snoring can still be heard.
She came in at about 5-5.30ish, and although it woke me up she was relatively quiet and so I just ignored her and thought 'I will be able to get back to sleep when she does' ... but no. When she went to sleep there was no chance whatsoever of me getting to sleep! And it's so strange because normally she doesn't snore at all (thank god), and this is proper make-the-glass-vibrate-in-the-windows snoring.
Of course, the fact that I am awake now and must have only managed to get about 5 and a half hours sleep (max, since I had trouble getting to sleep in the first place) does mean that I will collapse at some point today, which is not exactly a good thing.
Oh ... she just stopped snoring and is now really quiet ... hehe do you think I might have woke her up?! *tries to look innocent but fails and smirks* she can't have a go at me for typing on my computer since she did it when she came in this morning, and my laptop doesn't make much noise when I type (plus it's right at the other side of the room to her bed), whereas she as a desktop with one of those REALLY loud keyboards, and her computer is at the foot of my bed. Whoever arranged this room layout is an idiot!
Anyway, I shall now use this time to pack for Jo's, since the chances are my roomie will not get out of bed until late this afternoon, so it will probably be a good idea for me to be out of the room then or else she will yell at me for turning the light on and making noise. Of course, she could do that now, but I will just point out that it was her who woke me up and so it's all her own fault!
Hmm... I just noticed a lot of people keep coming online. Very odd crazy people! At least I have an excuse for been awake at this god forsakken hour!

Anyways, speak to you all soon! I might not be online much next week as I am going to stay with Jo, but I'm sure I will talk to you all at some point ^_^

rarara

Well, here is a nice little post cos I'm bored. Should do revision, but I'm too lazy. And hungry. Really really hungry actually, which doesn't make sense since it is only 12 and normally I don't get hungry until about 1230.
Hmm... lately I havent been putting points in times - it's very odd. I write 1230, 1400, 900 etc ... and I don't know why. I guess I'm just lazy ^_^

Anyway, I went home this weekend and ended up having a really good time. Got to see Emma, Adele and Kirst which was cool. And me and mum went shopping on Saturday and she bought me a really pretty dress for the Summer ball, so I'm all excited about that!!!

Hmm... with regards to the things that have been bothering me here is how things stand at the moment;

Things seem pretty sorted with roomie (plan worked better than expected and we are getting on really well again. Very odd)

Out of the other things that are bothering me (which I am not going to post here) 3 out of the 4 are pretty much sorted, and so really aren't bothering me. The other one .... well I can't do anything about that.
